Fire opal (named after its orange colour) has red, orange, yellow body colour. It doesn't always show play-of-colour and is usually milky and turbid. The best qualities are clear and transparent, it makes them suitable for being faceted. They are very sensitive to every stress.
Opal consist 3% - 21 % water, it is a mineraloid. Radiant orange glow of the fire opal entice jewel enthusiasts the world over. Fire opal is a transparent to translucent opal. It is found in yellow, orange, orange-yellow or red colors.
Fire opal should be protected from heat, acids, alkaline solutions, intense light and sharp objects. Moisture maintains its water balance and doesn’t let it crack.

Fire Opal is generally found in volcanic rock formations in Mexico, Brazil and little quantities in Guatemala, USA, Canada, Australia, Ethiopia, and Turkey .
